Spelling and grammar checking

Although the spelling and grammar function is certainly not flawless, this feature is certainly useful.
I just walk through the texts I have written for these courses, this way it shows me the big mistakes that I have typed out.
There are a number of ways to perform spelling and grammar functions.
One way is through the tab “Review” in the ribbon, and clicking the “Spelling and Grammar” button.
A second way is to click the F7 key on your keyboard.

In both cases, a dialogbox opens:

The misspelled word is selected in our document, and an alternative is suggested in the dialog.
Clicking on the button “Ignore Once” will ignore this error once in our document.
Clicking on the button “Ignore All” will always ignore this error in the document.
And clicking on the button “Add to Dictionary” will add this word to the list of words.
This is useful in the case of a company name or as in the example above, the word Free Course.
Once you have added this word to the dictionary, Word will no longer regard this word as a clerical error.

Clicking the “Change” button, will replace the misspelled word in our document with the selected word in the list of suggestions.
Clicking on the button “Change All”, will replace all these misspellings in our document with the selected word in the list of suggestions.
Clicking on the “AutoCorrect” will automatically change the spelling of the word as soon as you type a space.
Clicking on one of these buttons will execute the instruction, and Word will proceed to the next misspelled word.

Red colored wavy lines are misspellings.
Green colored wavy lines are grammar errors.

When everything is checked, a window appears stating that the spelling and grammar check is performed.

Synonyms

If you do not find the right word, or you want something different, you can use the function Synonyms.

In order to find synonyms of a word, right click the word, and go with the mouse pointer over the option “Synonyms”.

A list appears with all the words more or less with the same meaning.

Click the word in the list that you want. Word will replace the previous word with the word you clicked.

A second and more comprehensive way to find synonyms, is to click on the “Research” button in the tab “Review” on the ribbon.
First select the word which you want to find a synonym for.
Once selected, click the tab “Review” in the ribbon.
And click the button “Research”, far left of the ribbon.

The task pane “Research” opens on the right side of the window.
The word for which we seek a synonym is already filled in the upper box.
Besides the second box, click the downward pointing arrow and choose “Thesaurus: English”(default).
Immediately a list of different synonyms is shown.
Clicking on a synonym opens a drop-down menu with three options, “Insert”, “Copy” and “Look Up”.
The first two are obvious I think.
Clicking the third choice, “Look up”, puts the word in the top box “Search for:”, and starts again to search for synonyms of that word.
Click “Insert” from the drop-down list when you are satisfied with the synonym.
