Add SmartArt

If you want to insert a concept, or a plan or a sketch you can use SmartArt.
SmartArt is a new option in Word 2007.
With SmartArt, we can add different types of diagrams to our document.
To insert a SmartArt first select the tab “Insert” in the ribbon, and then click the button, “SmartArt”.
This will opens the “Choose SmartArt Graphic” dialog box:

This dialog box is divided into three parts:
On the left side we have the different types of diagrams.
In the middle we have a list of different examples.
And on the right side we have a description of the diagram that we have selected in the middle of the dialog box.

Have you selected the graph in the middle of the dialog box, click the OK button.
This places the SmartArt in your document at the place where your cursor was.

At the top of the “SmartArt Tools” we find two contextual tabs, “Design” and “Format”.
These are visible only when the SmartArt is selected in our document.
The options “Smart Art styles” and “Change Color”, which we find in the contextual tab “Design” have the option to “Live Preview”.
The same applies to the options “WordArt Styles”, “Text Fill”, “Text Outline”, and “Text Effects” that we find among the contextual tab” Format “.

To change the text in the different fields you can simply click the box and begin typing.
A second way is to click the arrows to the left of the SmartArt.
This opens a text window.
Click the text and start typing.

To change the hierarchy of subjects, select the box, and click the button “Promote” or “Demote”, under the shortcut tab “Design” in the ribbon.

You can do both in the text window, as in the SmartArt object.

To add a course, select a box in the Text pane, and click the Enter key on your keyboard.
To delete a box, select the box in the SmartArt, and click the Delete key on your keyboard.

Awesome!
