View “Full Screen Reading”

The view “Full Screen Reading” is new in Word 2007.
We find the option “Full Screen Reading” under the tab “View” in the ribbon.
When we click it, it hides all the command buttons and the scroll bars in the document.
By default you can view the first two pages in your document.

At the top of the toolbar we have a number of buttons, for example, to store our document, printing, and some viewing options.
Click the “Close” button, or click the Esc key on your keyboard to close this view.

The button “View”

We find the button “Show/Hide” under the tab “Home” in the ribbon.

When we click on it, all non visible characters are displayed, such as a space, a paragraph, an indentation, etc., in our document.
These characters obviously do not get printed, but can be useful in the preparation of our document.

Changing text

We have several options to change our text in our document.
One way is to place your cursor where you want to change the text.
By using the “Backspace” key and “Delete” key on our keyboards, you can remove text.
The “Backspace” key will delete the character before the cursor, and the “Delete” key, will remove the character after the cursor.

Another way to delete text is to select the word, and click the Delete key on your keyboard.

If you want to replace a word by another word, select the word and start typing.
