Lesson 57: Printing

Preview

Before we print the document, it is better to make a print preview.
This avoids unnecessary wastage of paper.
Not that I’m one of those Environmentalists, but I keep an eye on my wallet.
To create a print preview, click the Office button, choose “Print” and click “Print Preview” in the menu.
This gives us document in “Print Preview”.

As you can see the ribbon in “Preview” is divided into four groups.
1. Print
2. Page Setup
3. Zoom in / out
4. Preview

The options in the “Page Setup” allows us to make further changes for Margins, Orientation, and Size.

The options “In / Out” gives us the opportunity to view document in different “size”. Clicking on the “Zoom in / out” opens a dialog where you will see the zoom ratio can be set manually.

In the group “Preview” we have the ability to hide or show the ruler.
And, perhaps most interesting, we can also change the Magnifier.
When we uncheck this box, our cursor changes back to normal view, instead of a magnifying glass, and we can change the text.
Then we have the “Shrink One page”, this document will try to reduce a page, by making the text smaller and reducing distance and the size.
And then we have the buttons “Previous” and “Next” that we use to navigate to the different pages of our document.

Printing Options

To print your document, click the Office button, choose “Print”.
Here we have three options:
When we first select “Print”, it shows a dialog where we can enter a number of settings. Including a box where we select our printer, and boxes for the number of copies we desire.

The second option is “Quick Print”.
When we click on it, the document will be printed immediately, without us even setting any of these options.

We have already seen The third “Preview”.
