Copy, cut and paste

To copy data from your document, first select the data and then click the button “Copy” from the ribbon, under the tab “Home”. A second possibility is to select the data and click the buttons Ctrl C on your keyboard.

To paste the data somewhere else, first place your cursor at the place in your document where you want it, and click the button “Paste” in the ribbon.
You can do it quicker by clicking the buttons Ctrl V on your keyboard.

If the data has to be cut, first select the data and click the button “Cut” in the ribbon.
Or the fastest way is to click on the buttons Ctrl X on your keyboard.
When you cut data from your document, this data will be deleted.

Pasting Data can be repeated as many times you want.

And a third possibility to cut or copy data is by clicking and dragging.
To cut data, select the word or words, and you drag it to another place in your document.
To copy data do exactly the same but hold the Ctrl key on your keyboard pressed.

The clipboard

The clipboard is a convenient tool for pasting data that were previously copied or cut.
Normally we only get the last cut or copied data pasted.
But by using the clipboard, we can go back to 24 actions that we have performed.

Click the downward pointing arrow next to the clipboard to open it.
To add items to the clipboard you cut or copy information from the document, or any other application.

To paste information from our clipboard into a document, you first place the cursor in the document where you want to paste the data, and click the item in the clipboard.
Click the dropdown arrow that appears and choose “Paste”.

If you would like to delete an item from the clipboard, click the item and choose “Clear All”.
But I think you know that already.

If you wish for all the items from our clipboard to be pasted or deleted, click the respective buttons at the top of the clipboard.

The buttons “Undo” and “Repeat”

We find the buttons “Undo” and “Repeat” in the standard “Quick Access toolbar “.
The “Undo” will remove the last task executed.
For example, you have a full paragraph accidentally deleted from your document, click the “Undo” button, and this paragraph will be put back into place as if nothing ever happened.
Clicking on the button “Repeat” will remove this paragraph again.

Do you have multiple actions to be performed? Click the downward pointing arrow next to the “Undo”.When you click this button it displays a drop-down menu with the various operations carried out last.
Instead of clicking the “Undo” button several times, you can choose from this drop-down menu, how far you want to go back to undo actions.

Choose an action from the list that you want to undo, then Word will undo this and all other overhead operations from the undo list.

Shortcut to “Undo” is Ctrl Z on your keyboard.
Shortcut to the action “Repeat” command is Ctrl Y on your keyboard.
