Lesson 23: Show 19: Visual effects in transitions

23/65 Lessons

In this lesson we ape powerpoint. We will slowly expand photos.

New show

  • Create a new show titled “Show 19_Visual effects.” Click [File]- New Show; Change the title in the Show Title text box to “Show 19_Visual effects” in the popup menu that appears, and retain the aspect ratio at 4:3. Click [Create].

Dragging Photos

  • Drag the photos (Rocks, Beach, Sea Lions, Sailboat, Sunset) to the slide list.

Fill Frames

  • Now we completely fill the frame and we do this for all photos at once.
Select all the photos [Ctrl] + [A], and right click and select [Customize slide]- [Scale Slide Image]-[Fill Frame] in the popup menu.

Copy of slides

  • Copy any picture, [Ctrl] + [C] and [Ctrl] + [V], in the slide list and paste the copy next to the original photo.

A border as an extra layer

  • Drag the photo, “Border_standard”, as a layer on the 1st picture, using the [Ctrl] key.

Copying a border

  • Now we use this border (layer) for all the basic pictures. Select the 5 original photos (using the [Ctrl] key), by pressing it and double-clicking the first photo. In the menu, we select [Slide Options]> [Layer]> [Layers Settings]. We select the layer with the border, right-click and select [Copy]> [Copy to Selected Slides]. This is how we copy this layer to these 5 pictures. Close this window.

Adjusting Slide and transition times

  • Furthermore, we can adjust the times of the slide and the transitions. We do this by selecting everything, [Ctrl] + [A], and then we change the slide time and transition times to 0.5 sec and 5 sec. Just click the respective check boxes and enter the values.

Selecting transitions

  • To do justice to the effects, it is intended that the same transition duration should be specified between 2 pictures and a mellow transition is to be used, eg [Patterns] or [Shapes]. Between the different pictures, a fast transition, such as [Fly-In and Fly-out] can be used.

Saving the show

  • Save this project under the name “Show 19_Visual effects.” Click File> Save As, navigate to the correct folder where you want to save this project and change the File name to “Show 19_Visual effects.”
