Lesson 35: Show 31: Text and movement

35/65 Lessons

This lesson is another example of what you can with text on layers. Motion effects give a special effect to the text.

New show

  • Create a new show titled “Show 31_PCC”. Click [File]> [New show] and change the title in the Show Title box to “Show 31_PCC” and retain the aspect ratio at 4:3. Click [Create].

Slide with a background picture

  • Right click on the slide list and select [Insert]> [Blank slide]. Double-click the slide and select [Slide]> [Background]. Check the [Background type] button, and select the radio button, [Image], and use the [Select] button to navigate with the browser and open Lesson 31 which has the picture “PCC website”.

Texts as layers insertion

  • Select [Captions]> [Captions Settings].
  • Enter the text “PCC” in the text box and use these settings:

[Font] = Georgia,
[Font] = 20 [Bold]
[Color] = white

[Text effects] are:

[Fly in] = elastic left;
[Normal] = none;
[Fly out] = elastic right

[Position] = 23 x 50

  • Duplicate this text layer by right clicking and selecting [Duplicate Caption]. Then change “PCC” to “PRESENTS” in the text box.
    Now you have to specify the following settings:
    [Color] = Gold (RGB = 255/179/000)
    [Text Effects] should be the inverse of the original layer.

[Fly in] = elastic right,
[Normal] = none,
[Fly out] = elastic left
[Position] = 62 x 50.
So the text layers are displayed beautifully, in succession.

  • The next layer, created by clicking the [+] icon, is to have the text “P” with the following settings:

[Font] = Edwardian Script ITC,
[Size] = 300,
[Color] = light gray, RGB = 152/151/149
[Bold]
[Text Effects]
[Fly in] = fade zoom in,
[Normal] = none
[Fly out] = fade out
[Position] = 26 x 35

  • Duplicate the “P” layer and change it to “C”. Change the [size] to 70 and move it to the bottom right corner, [Position] = 58 x 75.
  • Duplicate the “C” layer and move it alongside the other “C” layer, i.e, [Position] = 84 x 75.

Saving the show

  • Save this project by clicking  [File]> [Save As], selecting the appropriate folder using the explorer and if necessary changing the filename.
