Lesson 23: Ruler Tool

Align Photos with the Ruler tool (ruler)

The “Ruler” Tool is found under the “eyedropper” tool in the Toolbox.

When you see the cabinet in the photo above, you see that this picture is not 100% straight.
We can correct this with the “Ruler” tool.
Select the “Ruler” Tool and draw a line on something, anything, that is supposed to stand, eg the closet.

You can drag with the ends of the line to align to the proper position.

Once this line is in the correct position, click “Image” – “Rotate Canvas” – “Arbitrary” … in the menu bar.
This opens the dialog “Rotate Canvas”:
You can see that Photoshop already set the correct les22_image03_en
angle value needed to rotate the picture to a straight position.
Click OK if you agree with this.

Result:

The photo is in a straight position in Photoshop.
The “crop” does not happen automatically, you must do it manually.
But this can not be a problem if you’ve followed the previous lesson.
