Lesson 6: Navigation

Page Up – Page Down

We can use the Page Up and Page Down keys on our keyboard to navigate our photo.
If we click the Page Up key, we will navigate very quickly to the top, with the Page Down key, navigate down quickly.
If we want to navigate with more precision, we hold the Shift key on our keyboard pressed while using the Page Up or Page Down button.

If we hold the Ctrl key pressed, we will navigate left or right, depending on whether we click the Page Up or Page Down key.
If we wish to navigate here with more precision, we hold the Shift key pressed.

The “Navigation” Panel

You will see the “Navigator” panel on the right side les06_image01_en
of your screen.
Click the Navigator button in the panel view, or click “Window” – “Navigator” in the menu bar.

The red rectangle in the navigation pane shows the part that is visible in the picture window.
So click on the Zoom Tool to zoom in, you will notice that the red rectangle in the navigation panel decreases.
Zoom out, then the red rectangle increases.

By hovering the mouse pointer over the red rectangle, it changes into a “hand”.
We can then move it by clicking and dragging.
While doing this, it also changes the appearance of the picture.

You can also zoom in the Navigator pane by clicking and dragging while holding the Ctrl button pressed. (This is the Command key for Mac users)
A second way to zoom in or zoom out is the slider on the Navigator panel.
Click and drag it left or right.

By clicking and dragging the edge of the Navigator palette, you can enlarge or reduce it.
