Patterns and Pattern Maker

To fill an image with a pattern, we must return to the “Paint Bucket” Tool.
In the options bar at the top, choose “Pattern”.
Click the downward pointing arrow to choose a pattern.
The rest of the settings are similar to previous options in the options bar.

To create your own pattern, we will first open our image where there are pixels, of which we want to make a pattern.
When you finally decide to take advantage of the pattern, Photoshop will replace the data of the selected layer.
it is better to first make a copy of the layer where you want to make the pattern.
Select this new layer.
Select the “Rectangle Marquee” tool in the Tool Box.
And make a selection of the pixels in the photo that you want to make the pattern.

On the right side of the dialog, we can choose several options for our pattern.
If you are satisfied, click the “Generate” button.
Then you get the following dialog:

In this dialog, we can again enter other options and click on the “Generate Again” button.
You can repeat this as many times as you like.
All generated patterns are stored temporarily.
Navigate between the different patterns stored temporarily by clicking the buttons “Next”,
“Previous”, ” First” and “Last” buttons in the lower right corner of the screen.
If you wish to save a good pattern, click the “Save” button at the bottom right of the dialog.
If you wish to delete a good pattern, click the “Delete” button at the bottom right of the dialog.
Click OK when you’re done.
You now notice that Photoshop has applied the pattern to our newly created layer.

If we had not made a new layer, it would have applied the pattern to our background layer.
Then if we had saved our picture, we would lose the original.
As you see, we just made back into the list of patterns:
