Lesson 53: Text (4)

53/85 Lessons

Paragraph Text

Unlike “Point Text”, “Paragraph Text” works with boundaries for the horizontal or vertical flow of characters. Entering text this way is useful when we have to insert one or more paragraphs of text, such as a brochure.

To add Paragraph Text, click and drag a bounding box with the text tool selected, of course, about the image.
You can always move this frame when the “Space Bar” on your keyboard is pressed.
Release the mouse button when you are satisfied with the size and location of the frame.

Options for your text are displayed in the options bar. Type your text in the frame. As you will notice below, Photoshop creates a new layer for this text.

To change whole text, for example change the font, select the layer, select the text tool and choose a different font in the options bar.
To change a word in the text, select the word by double clicking on it and change the options in the options bar.
If you want to select a whole line, you can quickly click three times on a word.
If you want to select an entire paragraph, click four times on a word.
In the example below, I wish to change the word “Halloween” to bold yellow:

In the “Character palette”, we can display the text, when the layer is selected.
