In this example I’m placing the backlight on our text with our pumpkin.
First select the layer with the text.
We click the fx button at the bottom of the “Layers” palette.
Choose “Bevel and Emboss”.
If we choose style “Outer Bevel”.
Technique: Smooth

Soften: 0
In the Shading section, I go for an Angle of 90 degrees.
Altitude of a 48.
The contour, I leave it as it is.
Likewise the “Highlight mode” too.
And I place the Shadow mode as “Lighten” with an “opacity” of 100%.
