Open a new document

To open a new document we click “File” – “Open” in the menu bar.
This opens the dialog “New”:

We give a name for our document in the “Name” box at the top.
We can enter the width and height, resolution, plus a number of other options.
But actually, we use the Photoshop to edit pictures and use other applications such as Illustrator or Freehand, to make drawings.
But Photoshop has the “tools” (tools) to do so.

So, as I mentioned earlier, Photoshop is for photo editing.

Opening a document

In order to open a photo, click the “File” – “Open” in the menu bar or use the shortcut Ctrl + O on our keyboard.
This opens the dialog “Open”:

By clicking on the downward pointing arrow in the “Look in:” navigate to the folder where the snapshot you want to open is located.
In order to open a photo, select the photo and click the “Open” button or double click the picture.

Open multiple documents

To open multiple documents, select the documents, hold the Shift key pressed when they are adjacent documents, hold Ctrl key pressed when they are not adjacent.

Click the “Open” button when all photos are selected.
All photos are opened in their own window.
Click Ctrl + Tab on your keyboard to navigate between photos.
To select the previous photo, click the buttons Ctrl + Shift + Tab on your keyboard.
