Quick Selection tool

The ” Quick Selection” tool is new in Photoshop CS3.
This selection tool is really impressive. It can not only distinguish between the colors, but also between the edges or transitions between light and dark pixels in the picture.
As an example, I will open another photo of a hot air balloon.
Select the “Quick Selection” tool in the Toolbox.

In the options bar at the top left we find the three buttons: “New selection” – “Add to selection” – “Subtract from Selection”.
The “Brush” (brush) button opens a popup window where we can enter various settings, including the diameter of the Pencil, the shape of the brush by setting the Angle and Roundness.

With the “Quick Selection” tool, we paint over the colors to be selected or deselected.
You click and drag to place in the image that you wish to select.

Choose the “Add to Selection” button when you want to add extra pixels.
Choose the “Subtract from Selection” if you want to remove pixels from the selection.

I have only one word for this tool, “fabulous”.

All, this was just a snack, but now we continue our balloon to the market in St-Niklaas.

Awesome!
